Meet the Hood Family
Tim and Debbie Hood are excited to host the third Breakfast on the Farm (BOTF) for the season in Van Buren county. They are third generation farmers who have been in business for 70 years. Tim’s father started building the herd up when he was a young kid, they used these facilities until 2000.
They own 500 cows and approximately 1,100 acres of corn and hay. They pride themselves in being a family-run dairy operation that grows a majority of their own feed for their livestock. They look forward to educating the public on these aspects of modern-day farming.
Tim and Debbie have four children who are actively involved in the farm: Tammy, Charlie, Britney and Jennifer. They all play an important role on the farm from payroll to calf feeding.
Tim is excited to open his farm up to consumers who are curious about what goes on in the everyday life of a farmer.
In addition to farming, Tim and Debbie are members of Farm Bureau and Michigan Milk Producers Association. They look forward to meeting many new people and the consumers of their milk when they open up their farm doors on August 8th.
