Meet the Hart Family
Hartland Farms is owned and operated by Brad and Tracey Hart along with their three sons Chad, Nick and Burke. Brad and Tracey love having their sons involved with the family farm. The farm was founded in 1836 and has been in the family for seven generations. In 1977, Brad went back to the farm after completing the Ag Tech program at Michigan State University. When he returned home, Brad helped his parents, Phil and Mary Ann Hart, with day to day operations.
When Brad took over the farm they milked 100 cows. Now, Hartland Farms milks 970 cows. Hartland farms also produces 1,100 acres of corn, 600 acres of soybeans, 400 acres of wheat and 300 acres of alfalfa. Most of their crops are used for cattle feed, while the rest are sent to the market. They are MAEAP Verified in Farmstead, as well as Livestock and Cropping systems.
Outside of farming, the Hart family loves to go snowmobiling and tractor pulling. They are also very active in their community and stay involved in the local school sports programs.
The Hart family is very excited to open their farm to consumers and meet everyone on August 27th for their Breakfast on the Farm event!
