Meet the Lewis Family

Pleasant View Dairy is owned by Bruce and Jennifer Lewis, third generation dairy farmers. They have three children who are also involved in the farm and eventually will become the fourth generation. Adam and his wife Kayla and their daughter, Aubree, who is 1 ½ years old. Adam works in the cropping part of the farm and Kayla works in the office alongside Jennifer. Daughter Brittany works in the calving area and son Conner works with the milking herd.

The farm was established in 1941 when Bruce’s grandparents came to Michigan from Ohio. They started out with a variety of animals and when Bruce’s parents took over in 1957, the farm moved forward with milk cows. Today we milk 680 cows twice a day and farm about 2700 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa.

Pleasant View Dairy is also a MAEAP Verified farm and has won many awards. They were awarded with the 2013 MSU Dairy Farmers of the Year, National Dairy Quality (Gold) Award, 2014 MMPA Gold Quality Award and they are National Dairy FARM program certified.

Aside from farming the Lewis’s are members of Michigan Farm Bureau, Michigan Corn Growers Association, MMPA, Hillsdale County Dairy Promoters and the Hillsdale County Agriculture Council.

The Lewis’s invite you to check out the farm online by visiting their Facebook page, and look forward to meeting visitors in person at their farm Aug. 29 during the last Breakfast on the Farm of the season.
